Awesome game, it's my new favourite Half-Life mod!
I know you are working on the next update, so I wanted to offer my voice (British English) to the project. I don't have any VA experience, but I'd love to help.

(1 edit) (+1)

Hey, thank you for the kind words and your offer, right now I have all necessary actors gathered (except one female for a couple small roles). The voiceover is 80% done

Just finished the game — what an achievement! It feels like a 10/10 shooter from around 2004, and yet it was made by a solo developer. Great pacing, level design, lots of different set pieces to change the gameplay from time to time, no crashes at all, and it's a very gorgeous game to look at!

I'll be here for version 1.1 and real voice acting!

(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you like it!

(+2)

what the hell! its really amazing! Totally HL vibes. I'cant believe that it was made in solo. Quality\gameplay\sound -  10\10. How long it takes to develop it?

(+1)

Hi, I've making it at slow pace since 2014 or so. But much more actively since 2020. Thank you for playing :)

I’ve just finished Chapter 1, and so far this is fantastic! The graphics and level design are excellent, but so are the writing and the pacing. It’s very, very polished for a 1.0 release, and I’m excited to see the rest of the game!

Can this be made to work on Xash3D 32bit?

I can compile it for 32-bit, but I can't guarantee it would work with no issues. For a few years now, I moved to 64-bit entirely and 32-bit was not tested.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd greatly appreciate it.

For whatever reason, I was never able to run the 64 bit version of Xash3D on my computer.

I had to make a YT Short with some silly banter with Alice Nakayama

this game is fantastic, i just wish the voices weren't all ai, plus the poor translations hinder it a bit

but if the translations were fixed and the voices replaced with real people, i think this could actually be an absolutely excellent game

i've only just barely finished chapter 1, and damn, there's 5 of these? genuinely crazy how much game there is here haha

yeah man, i played the whole thing and you'll be impressed with how much there actually is! i know there was atleast 1 secret in the game i found. i wonder how many more there are...

The voices are being recorded, they are also native speakers so I hope it will be better this time. The 1.1 update should be released some time in january

Awesome! Thanks for the update!

that's great to hear! definitely going to be looking into that when it comes out

PART[1]

I'm making a 3 Part Series for this game that took me 12 hours to beat. I really needed a game like this. I loved the old half life games and this game is like a breath of fresh air using an old engine

PART[2]

Timestamp 1:30:50 was like the movie Edge Of Tomorrow lmao

PART[3]

Thanks! I'm slowly preparing the 1.1 update which will involve new voiceover (by real people), some combat fixes, gameplay reworks, new areas and so on.

(+1)

Niice! I was fine with the AI voices, but I know a lot of people will be very happy about real voice actors.

awesome work !

Alice likes to scan the player

(1 edit) (+2)

this is so good! how many chapters are there? i just started the 3rd one. i am enjoying this game, the levels you built, and story so much! <3 <3

i'll be returning with my full playthrough video soon. thanks so much for making this!

(+1)

There are 5 chapters. Glad you like it so far!

i beat it, and dang that was hard lol! i cant believe there's 2 more difficulties. i loved it. i found that bar and had a few drinks lmao

took me around 12 hours to finish. i can tell a lot of work went into this.

(+1)

Thanks! I been working on it slowly since around 2014 or so... Took my time cause no deadlines :P

Was it really hard on easy difficulty? Maybe the last boss, but with a drone and a turret, plus sniper rifle he's quite easy I think. It's hard to figure those things out...

(1 edit)

oh yeah i should've used the turret. i kept forgetting to use them for distraction and support fire. i used the drone.

it was a lot of fun and i was still able to beat it. i think im just not very good at the game lol!

EDIT: i also found the 'Wild Crabby' that appears on the horizon hahaha

(+1)

Haha nice! Not many people find it

I enjoyed this game.It exploded the potential of a modified version of an old engine like GoldSrc (the original Half Life). Most features from Source Engine (Half Life 2) are partially integrated into, giving me a "what-if Half Life 2 was made into the same engine as the first one, instead of creating a new engine?" feeling (not to mention some elements from the 'Portal' videogame). And all of it in less than 2GB? Awesome! Nothing else to say than I'm impressed. Good work!

By the way: I managed to make the game playable with gamepad. It's working very fine, even on vehicles. If you're interested, I'll share the configs to you.

(+1)

Hey, sure that would be nice!

(+2)

There you go! Just write me again if you or anybody else have troubles with these.

I normally don't comment at all but I had to make this an exception because I just needed to express how absolutely awesome this is, by far one of the most impressive things to ever come out of the goldsource engine and a really solid gameplay experience to boot. I'm also really glad that this is put on itch as well so that even people who don't own/never played half-life can still experience and enjoy this technical marvel. My only gripe would have to be the inclusion of AI voice acting, but this is merely a minor nitpick and hardly subtracts from the overall experience. Honestly cannot wait to finish this mod, its clear from everything that this came from a place of passion, 10/10.

AI voice acting will be replaced. I found a few people to record the lines after the release got widely shared. Thank you for the feedback

I Was waiting for this game to came out since i discovered it like 2 years ago. And i need to say: this is one of the best free singleplayer fps aviable! modified half-life engine is squeezed to its limits, its so goddamn beautiful! very fun experience!I didn't encounter any bugs throughout my entire playthrough. It was worth the wait!
Im impressed...

Thank you for the kind words!
